24 Body Armor

I'm trying to get some info on the law regarding Body Armor in the U.S.
I'm trying to get a Second Chance Apex Carrier (no plates) worn by Kiefer in 24 to the U.K.
It seems they are only available to Law Enforcement or Military personnel. Any help would be welcome :thumbsup.

I don't think you'll be able to get the real deal. Anything body armor anymore is usually restricted order (military, LE, or have to be employed/work in Security). The Second Chance Apex Carrier from what I can tell from a few websites has the Araflex IV ballistic panels hence the restricted nature, the carrier is also a BP vest basically. I think they've really tightened export of anything of this nature to.

I'd hit the Airsoft stores and see if there are any airsoft knockoffs. There usually are of the more popular vests.

The carriers are usually just empty shells into which you place your ballistic panels. My daily wear vest was originally a concealed version worn under my uniform shirt. Later, the uniform people got me an outer shell that would hold my panels plus it had some pockets for extra mags, etc. If you get me the details on the "24" vest outer carrier I can get one for you, but you need to be sure UK customs will allow it to me imported.

I would need make, model, size, color, options (if any), etc.

if you are in the UK you might look up advanced composites and see if some one there can grab some of the scraps they have left over. they work with ballistic cloths all the time and have end mills and what not that they throw away. then you just have to come up with a pattern and you can just sew one up. I would not try using it in a real life fire fight though as the ones they make go through all sorts of tests and then the final design has a bunch of them tested to be sure the batches are good and something has not gone wrong but it would be made of the real stuff and if you get the right pattern it should look exact to the shows props. I have been thinking of trying to make some storm trooper armour with the same type of stuff so that it would be more durable and less likely to buckle.

The particular carrier I ordered, the 2nd Chance Apex model, only comes in black or white. I don't know if he is wearing that same unit this season.
