Limited Run 2015 Marty McFly Jacket - Shipping Now!!!

Is anyone else thinking of tailoring their jacket? I brought mine to my local tailor yesterday to get the bottom and sleeves shortened. The sleeves are super long right out of the box. They needed to take 6 inches off of the upper arms to get the bellows to my elbow. I'm almost exactly MJF's size. I also requested that the bottom black strip for the belt be raised equal to the strips height. It should be ready by the 14th.

Lol. Well I'm 5'5 and I got a small and it was still too big for me. I think all the jackets no matter what the size have the same size arms. It was $54 to get it all done. I got a 10% military discount too so that was a plus. The seamstress in the shop looked at me funny because of how odd the jacket is. I told her it was from a movie and another customer next to me knew it was from BTTF. lol
 
Mitas, tell you the truth, I've experienced exactly the same. LOL, both 1)need to tailoring the jacket and 2) with people gathered around....

I think you'll need to find an experienced tailor with access to a machine that can handle the jacket. I doubt a regular machine will cut it with the thickness of the material, something more heavy duty will be best. I'm gonna get mine tailored by my aunt, as she has access to a lot of factory grade kit, but I won't see her until sometime next year.

The tailor I went to didn't seem to think she would have a problem with it. Their website said they can work on leather so the sleeves shouldn't be a problem. I know it's fake leather but it has similar thickness and attributes.
 
Mark, your jackets are truly masterpieces, but I feel like this is only a specific nitch in the community. I think your work should have way more recognition than it does. You have to be very specific on Google to even get one picture of your jacket. The world should know lol

thanks for your kind words, I didn't make them actually, my tailor did a great job but I worked with her on the design, construction etc :) I have a new batch of jackets on the way & will be listing them on eBay soon :D

It would be awesome if MJF got ahold of one of your jackets and did a promotion with it for the release of the MAGs next year. It's a shame he didn't get to keep any part of his costumes.
 
If anyone is wondering where to find the most information in one place to enhance the jacket, check out my mod thread. It has information for the lights and sound, expanding foam for the belt and cuffs, and progress of other members' jackets.
