Interest 2009 Trek metal body communicator

Ok so my buddy says they have the CNC to do anything we can imagine (I sent him 2 photos from this post) and he said yes. He could not however give me any kind of estimate, says I have to go through official channels for that so I will call & email them tomorrow to find out a ballpark pricing.

Do you know if you want just the one, or are you planning on having several and selling kits?

I found some more reference that may be helpful. It appears that the JJ communicator was slightly altered in each movie. I have not scrutinzed all of the details, but overall body shape seems consistent. The changes are to the Delta symbol on flip grid _ appears to be cut out in INTO DARKNESS with a mesh wire screen behind it. Then, in BEYOND, Scotty's damaged communicator has different control details on the inside on either side of the glass ball. I can not guarantee that all of these pics are authentic set-used pieces, but they appear to be. Also, a few are background props that do not have flippable grids, but adding them anyways. Hope some of this helps...especially the one shown against ruler for more precise size estimate.

If you're taking votes on which version, I would say first or second movie...I think the only difference on these two was the flip grid details. Leaning towards 2nd movie as I like the cutout delta symbol and the grid is just black on the inside. I imagine you could offer it both ways with different grids.

Thank you for the research. I like the original 2009 comm. I’m not a huge fan of the cut out screened delta shield. I like the slightly recessed one. I think the controls on the latter model look a bit too kit-bashed for my taste. I see now that the small dots below the control wheel are magnetic for the reed switch.

If there is enough interest, I can have my shop machine this. I've thought about doing a run in the past, but I wasn't sure there was significant interest in the Abrams trek stuff.
