15th Doctor's Sonic Reveal

I like Kylash idea of a "sonic multi-tool." The concept reminds me somewhat of the Voyagers! Omni. I never cared that an Omni could transport through time and space, but when the fob watch with Chameleon Arch technology was revealed, I always thought it would be an interesting plot device if the fob watch worked similar to the Omni and could transport the Doctor back to the TARDIS console room in an emergency. An interesting feature would also be to serve as a TARDIS key with the ability to cloak the TARDIS similar to what occurred with the Second Doctor in Invasion.

However, I agree such a tool should not be overly multi-function, or perhaps not be as reliable for tech, for (as Starganderfish indicated) the Doctor responding as the OG MacGyver is part of the enduring character we all love.

So sounds like this SDCC one is chrome plated and will also be available online in September. No word on a normal retail release thats not a special edition chromed version.

Yeah we probably wont know that until people start buying them at the con tomorrow.

Last year, when the 14th Doctor’s Sonic was first released at ComicCon, they went for $150 on eBay. Now you can find them for $30 on eBay (both the standard retail, AND the special edition).

They were $50 at the show so that’s what they should be when they put them online

I was fortunate enough to grab a couple of the new sonics early. Promptly ran back to my hotel and shot a little video of the functionality. For FIFTY BUCKS, I think this is an amazing deal. Very detailed piece, packed with functionality.

More pics on my IG showing size comparison to the CO 10th sonic, packaging, etc. And a cool video of me in the new tardis interior. Check it out at

I got my hands on one. $100 on eBay, but I figured that was a reasonable markup. With the 87% tax and fees that eBay takes off of every auction now from the seller, combined with shipping, etc. the seller probably only made 20 bucks off of it.

First reaction is that the thing is way cooler than it looks on TV or in the photos. I do like the multiple Swiss Army knife features that it has. The only problem is, this is not electroplated! It is a shiny metallic paint, but it is definitely not electroplated.

this version seems to have standard paint instead of chrome. I still cant believe Disney isnt selling these...or ANYTHING Doctor Who for that matter.

That looks pretty bland compared to the SDCC one that I got. Even that was not electroplated but shiny metallic paint. Still looks the part though.
