I am a huge Dune fan. I just completed re-reading all the Dune books in chronological order (including the prequels and the new books in between the originals). I've always wanted to make my own Crysknife. I've tried a couple times, but they never seemed right.
With the renewed inspiration of rereading the books I decided to try again. I based it on the first description and the entry in the Dune Encyclopedia.
I carved it out of wood then coated it with resin to seal it. Then I painted it with acrylics. I used a metallic pearl white for the blade and strait black for the handle. The overall shape is based on a Kindjal knife, as described in the book. Take a look and let me know what you think!!!!
P.S. I am still thinking about a display stand. I have an idea, but I need to iron out the details.
