Just printed up a template based on these set of figures and it looks like it'll do the trick. We're talking one or two millimeters here, so we should be good to go!

Quick question for those "in the know"... do we know for sure that these are horn? Maybe they're just acetate, Alain Mikli makes a lot of acetate glasses...
At this point, our horn supplier does not have the exact color/pattern in stock, so we'd have to import some custom horn for this... putting the price (and minimum order) higher.
I guess the real question is: would you rather have:
1) Accurate glasses made of acetate (possibly less than originally estimated)
2) Very close glasses made of horn
3) Accurate glasses made of horn (at a higher price)
Thoughts?

I've always been led to believe they were vintage horn, but I don't have any direct references on that one, unfortunately. I'd go for maximum accuracy if possible

I'd like them to look as accurate as possible... I'd pay a little more for the Horn, but not an exorbitant amount... If you went Acetate and it was cheaper, I'd probably get two pair...

This is precisely where I stand. They must look accurate first and foremost. $50 more would be my limit for real horn. I'd rather they be cheaper and I'll buy two...
Ok, I'm going to look into the acetate some more. There's a good chance that's what the originals were anyway, and the price would be less for what amounts to the same level of accuracy.

To bad there is no one who could contact the prop department at the BBC Wales to find out... But if you choose Acetate and they look correct, I am good with that...

According to the Louise Page interview on Ricks' blog, the originals were by Alain Mikli, but she doesn't say what the material was. A quick search shows that they do make plastic frames, so it's possible the originals weren't horn
Ok, we're going with the acetate frames, I think the results will be more consistent and accurate... not to mention cheaper for you guys (not so much for us as we'll have to do a larger run now). Also, I'm thinking of offering them as sunglasses as well... would that interest anyone?

The biggest issue for me is the shipping from USA. I mean the price is good, but with taxes and customs it could be almost twice as much. Pity some of the best DW stuff comes from outside the EU.
