10th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver Re-release?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anybody has recently purchased the re-release of the Tenth Doctor's sonic screwdriver prop, and if so, if you could clear up a couple of things for me.

Currently I have the original one (with the UV light and interchangeable ink nibs) that plays 2 different sound effects. I saw that the prop was just re-released and I was hopeful that they made some good changes, but I'm not sure.

The reviews on Amazon are all very good, and one person said that "the light is much brighter and now there are 4 sound effects instead of 2," however, I also watched a video review on YouTube (DOCTOR WHO Tenth Doctors Sonic Screwdriver (Re-Release) Toy Review | Votesaxon07 - YouTube) where the gent said that basically it is the same exact screwdriver with the same 2 sounds, and that the only difference is that it no longer has an ink nib on the bottom (so basically it was a cop-out and if you have the original, don't bother getting the 'new' one).

Unfortunately the item description on Amazon (nor the BBC shop website) does not mention anything about either of these things.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

The votesaxon video is about last year's release, the new release is part of wave 2 (along with the 5th, 8th and a lame 11th). I think it has blue light and doesn't have the ink nib and it has the 11th sound chip as all the wave 2 sonics if I'm not mistaken (last year's releases had the 4 sounds, but not all of them).
You can find more info about it here, check the comments, maybe somebody already purchased it and wrote a review or something:

If you want the version with the ink nib, try to find the Diamond classic sonics. The CO re releases are cheaper versions with not too accurate sound chips but Diamond released the original versions in new packaging (not only the 10th but future and laser screwdrivers too).
Hope this helps.

Ah okay thanks, that clears things up a bit. I already have the original with the ink nib, so I was hoping that the new one would have the 4 sounds instead of 2 and an actual blue LED instead of the UV light (since I never use the ink nib anyway, and would rather have a more accurate prop for cons and such). Thanks for the info!
