Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

He will never be 100% perfect as i am not that good but i am pleased with the general look and its a great base figure for me to use for alternate troopers i need to confirm the caster and permissions for the helmet before i can go down the route of an interest thread i am also moving house so strapped for cash :( i also need to finish the figure of course lol
Just working on his arms i am going to have one arm bent with the blaster on his right pointing in the air and the other arm either down by his side or holding something? Any suggestions?
I did think about a c3 p0 head but then i would have to sculpt it lol

Amazing!
Put me down for one as well!

Damn that's effing huge.

Go with the original pose you had in mind: standing at attention. But remember to have the blaster in the left hand.

Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

Hey lucky for me I don't need the helmet since I have one of Carstens but
I would love this piece. Maybe offer this to those who got one of the helmets and then there wouldn't be any recasting issues. Sucks for those who didn't get 1 but it also avoids the headache of sculpting 1 and any recasting problems. Just my 2 cents

Now in regards to the pose I do love the 1 above but if you go the blaster pointing up route then his other hand needs to be hanging off his belt. Like the Gentle giant bust

I'll send you money now to just help finish this puppy off lol

Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

Great work so far.

I'd like to add my name to the interest list, but didn't get in on the mini helmet run. Is there an issue with recasting the helmet or do you and Carsten have an arrangement? Or if not, can you please make one? :)

Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

I hope that this is not only offered to people with one of Carstens helmets. Hopefully you can come to an agreement with him so everybody has a chance to get one of these.

Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

Just to clarify and that everyone doesn't think that I'm trying to exclude them or even myself in regards to the helmet. I just remember reading Cartsen had to get permission to even make the ones he offered. I could be wrong. I'm just throwing ideas out there. Hugs and bunnies

That’s cool, Back in the day i almost started a .45 scaled stormtrooper and was going to use the MR .45 helmet but i thought the helmet just wasn’t good enough. In doing a scaled stormtrooper i think the helmet is the essence of the sculpt.

I've been watching the progression of this project from the sidelines and have to say if this continues in the direction you've taken, I foresee the end result being something special.

Keep up the great work.

Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

Thanks hope i dont let you down :)
i am going to look into the viability of doing a small run of the figure if he comes out ok i will contact the relevent parties and see how it goes if i can work a deal out i will start an interest thread in the Junkyard when he is completed.
Thanks for your continuing support its made all the difference!

Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

The arms look a bit oversized. Well, not the arms but the pieces on the arms, specially the biceps armour.

Keep the good work, it looks awesome :thumbsup

Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

Don't get depressed, if you have been able to do what you have already made with such accurate details, you'll be able to do the arms perfectly perfect, just get your time, you're not in a hurry :)

Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

your right its just a bit soul destroying getting the proportions correct is very tricky i like to do projects fast to stay interested because if i stop they end up never getting finished :)

Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

I've made a little bit of correction in the pic (left arm) so you get the idea better. I'm not a trooper expert but I've tryied to do it as good as I'm able to :thumbsup
