Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

I had to come check. Looking good. You might be able to trim it down a bit further, but really not by much.

Have a nice vacation. :cheers

Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

Nice base.

I see where you are coming from with the body shape outline, but you need to line it up with the ankles and the crotch and the shoulders. Doing so makes the torso way too long, so I did this to illustrate just how much you need to cut the abdomen down to get it proportionate. This is just a rough example and you may not even have to cut as much as I illustrated, but hopefully you can see where I'm going with this as the body outline you drew shows a much taller person than the sculpt you are doing.

You can see how the ankles line up, the knees, the crotch, the chest and shoulders. Much more properly proportioned.

Seeing how well this is turning out. I hope maybe you'll tackle Vader and with Carstens help it would be great.

Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

Hi thanks for that I was leaving enough room for the belt but I can. Certainly cut the body down some. More I am sat at airport so I won't be able to touch him for a week
But I am hoping there is WiFi were we are going and can still discuss it.

Re: 1:3 stormtrooper sculpt wip trooper armour advice needed

YES... much better proportions. I can't wait to see this progressing further. Anyone who has good reference of the ANH movie troopers, post it up and help him out... I don't really know troopers from the other, so it's limited how much I can help with the detailing. All I feel I can contribute is regarding shape and proportions.

Thanks i think i am going to just crack on now and see how he comes out i think the basic shape is ok it can always be super detailed if he gets cast in resin :)
