Yamato also does 1/48 transformable Valkyries, but Wes' question was for 1/72 transformable Valks and the answer is that those have been available almost continuously (well OK, not quite) since 1982.
Yup, almost unchanged (look at the beauuutiful graphics) since then. The one that I bought is a Bandai reissue. The graphics alone make it worth to buy those kits!
So, when are we going to see a 1/24 scale Battroid mode version? Am I repeating myself here? It´s probably the shock when I remember that there is a 1/24th scale Monstroid in the works, too... or was that smaller scale?
They actually did produce and sell a 1/24 Valkyrie kit many years ago. Mike's new version is way more detailed and cool.
They still produce tons of Macross stuff in Japan, the last few years have seen more releases than even when the classic program was around with a full range of 1/48 scale perfect transformation transformalble Valkyrie, a 1/3000 and 1/2000 scale Movie style SDF-1, the current 1/60th scale range by Yamato covers even more obscure Valk colors and set ups such as the Elintseeker. They've also produced enemy mecha.
Edit- Not to even mention Macross Zero and Frontier that have huge, huge numbers of toy and model releases overseas.
The big reason you don't see the japanese stuff over here is the old Harmony Gold/Big West dispute that you can read about elsewhere.
Toynami in the US has put out some crap too, but I'd recommend you go japanese on this one, they are much higher quality.
And then between Mike and a prolofic Canadian kit master there have also been a lot of great model kit releases.
:thumbsupSo that's the Monster and Valk covered, is anyone out there up for a 1/1200 TV SDF-1?![]()
Wes, seriously, look up the Yamato toys from Macross, they'll rock your world if you're into this stuff. I utterly love their 1/60 Destroids. Poseable beyond belief.
Ghadrack, I'm certain Mike will deliver. So that's the Monster and Valk covered, is anyone out there up for a 1/1200 TV SDF-1?![]()
Yamato is the company that Fine molds needs to be. Those people don't fool around when it comes to giving the customers what they want.Wes, seriously, look up the Yamato toys from Macross, they'll rock your world if you're into this stuff.
