The 747-8 shares the same engines as the 787. The scallops or chevrons are for noise reduction

Hey Expatkiwi, sorry but I'm putting this on the backburner for now. Couldn't find a lot of info about those struts (It''s amazing how just those 3 struts can support the weight of the shuttle). Once I find some close-up shots I'll probably draw them up and 3d print in metal. One thing's for sure though - I like the old silver paintjob of the SCA better. It's got more character than all white, even if it looks "old" that way. Reminds of the Starfighters, Sabres and Delta Darts.
