1:1 Scale AS (Averaged Symmetry) Trooper Helmet.

TS, cap and back now fused. just needs a little bit of refinement and final polishing and it will be ready for molds.

Ok here are some of the components for the TS component parts. Not shown are the trapezoid back panels for the TD sandy version. And the tear drops and vocoder for the TK stunt version as well as the flat lenses. Plan is to still try to have a fully finished lid by the end of the year. If not we should have everything ready to go for production by then. At that time we will still start to take POs for those of you who would like to own one of these beauties.

It's so well-crafted, and at the same time you're taking such a drastically different approach than I am. I'm curious why you're engineering the traps and tears and earcap greeblies and chin grille to drop in from outside rather than pop in from behind, as you've done with the teeth. It also seems like you omitted the oval "pill" detail from the tears that was on the originals. Is the faceplate undercut shallow/hero or deep/stunt?

thanks guys glad you like it so far. still a ways to go.

thank you very much, well reason why i engineered it from thew outside rather than the inside, is to make things far more efficient for construction. far less cutting and trimming. and as i stated in my comments, not all components are shown, i do have the tears with the pill marks, as well as the traps for the back with out the pill marks, there is also a stunt vocoder and flat lenses. as far as the face plate this helemt was designed and created after an ANH stunt version.

I think there might be a miscommunication... When I say "pills" I don't mean the vertical stripes, but the larger horizontal oval details present on the original helmets:

It's one of the little details of the original helmets that I have loved ever since running across it a decade ago. Can be darned sure I'm including it in my build. ;)

Really excited to see how the final version of this turns out DM - great work!

Cool detail IP, never noticed that before. Always great to learn something new about the originals! Thanks for sharing!

AAAHH YES, i see what you mean now. Well, quite frankly to answer your question,, i over looked these. I really put all my focus on replicating the shapes and forms and all the details that were clearly present to maintain that look and feel of the OT lids on a symmetrical level. So probably why i overlooked them. lol, So Thank you for bringing it to my attention,. ill see what i can do to add this detail to the TD bits, because those will be a very nice touch to that area. Im just not so sure how they will work with the TK, for the pill details may clash intersecting with all those engraved lines, but ill try that out as well and see how it looks. So thanks again for bring this to my attention. :)

(It's also why I don't like the pinstripes as physical artifacts. Since I figure those gray panels are there to shield sensor systems, it makes little sense to me to go to the extent of designing in a raised portion for the clearance of whatever's behind that bit that wasn't deemed necessary to reshape the entire piece... and then cut a series of slits through the whole thing.)

the way i see it, the TD and the TK although the same amror, each have a different purpose / function, so things should be different to a degree. so i think it would be best to only add the pill marks to the TD tears only. so thats the route ive decided to take.
