Hi Gang,
Part II: Escape Velocity The Museum of Science Fiction Convention
We setup in the Prince George's Exhibit Hall E
We were the first to arrive on Thursday so it was easy to setup
Those are the front doors to the hall and this was our spot!
We had a few accidents but nothing catastrophic!
One of the lids popped off during transport. Surprisingly no damage to the panel or lid
We rifled through getting her setup in to the evening
Power!
The first time the door has been in place in over 2.5 years!
Whoops... No pads!
Our sign
Now... before I get to the fun stuff here are a few of the other displays
I saw this and instantly thought of our buddy and fellow RPFer Joberg!
The EVA pod belongs to Greg Nicotero, the director of The Walking Dead. I had to pleasure of geeking out with him several times during the show. Neat guy and a total geek/nerd like all of us!
The pod was gorgeous!
Yes, that's a monolith under the blanket!
A few more goodies...
Sadly, no engines...
Let's get back to it! I woke up early Friday morning and finally addressed the light bars and a few other little things that needed finishing up
Before I could snap any images of the cockpit I found our FIRST COSPLAYER! I asked Rey if she wanted to take some pics... she said YES!!!
A nice jaunty angle
It was a LOT of fun seeing the cockpit in action!
Late Friday night we were asked if the cockpit was available for a Fan Film... Absolutely!
Not sure what the fan film is just yet but we'll post any info as it comes in
This is where the fun begins!
A Klingon and Leo from Smooth-On. These two guys were a LOT of fun!
Greg Nicotero geeking out
Remember all that work I did on the foot well panel? Couldn't even see the dang thing! lol
A R2 builder, Pat Coujo, stopped by and showed us his R2 accessories! I was really hoping someone had one of the arms
These things were gorgeous!
Nice!
This is Pat's R2
Might have to drop the droid socket a little bit lower...
Disgusting creatures!
And then a few of Izzy's friends showed up to have some fun during the few breaks we got
I love the reflections in 3PO
Part III: Coming!
Stay Tuned!
