Six done, and two more poured this morning

I'll be able to pop them out when I get back home from work. I'll pour the last two tonight, so they should all be ready for casting Saturday afternoon :thumbsup

I forgot that my wife was working this weekend, so I'm on Daddy duty until she gets back late evening. I'll mix up a batch once she's back, and the kids are in bed :thumbsup

It's good news bad news


Good news.......the moulds are perfect :thumbsup

The bad news....... In larger quantities it kicks off über quick and was almost too thick to pour them all. As such I've ended up with this bunch of misfits

When I used the 30ml sample cups for the original two, I had a much longer working time. I only had a couple of the cups around, so I'm gonna get a ruck of them and do a "Mix/pour/chuck system so each one is at maximum viscosity when pouring :thumbsup

I think I'm getting the hang of silicone now :thumbsup


The whole pour only took five minutes, and the misfits were a result of rushing for the most part. Such a short working time is ok for a single pour, but multiple small ones that need burping need a bit longer.

Using the little cups will be much better, and I can Pre measure both parts into the whole bunch with two 10ml syringes (they will make short/accurate work of that little job :thumbsup). The casts will benifit from this, and to me that's what matters most.

I think we made the right choice switching resins, though I'll need to order more as my part B is going off


Having said that, the first two test pulls of the smaller type turned out well, and are tough enough for the job :thumbsup

So while it's still useable, I thought I'd get started on 15,897 switches needed, and are curing as we speak
