Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

Its been raining for the past several days so no significant updates. But I'd rather take the rain and cool temps than the blistering heat...

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi All,

First, I am blown away by all the builds on this forum. There's a lot of talent here! I just joined the C3PO forum with the hopes that someone might be able locate 4 knee pistons. I searched through the classifed section and didnt find anything.

I currently belong to The Replica Prop Forum where I am currently building a full scale replica of the Millennium Falcon ****pit console and instrument panels.

WHOA! I have not seen anything like that even for sale on Ebay! What a great find! I'm looking on their website now.

That white dome light looks awesome - what size was it?

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

They look the right size i did not get the size but could go back with a ruler and take a pic the white ones are 2.50 each and the ones in the packaging are 12.15 each. I think there at least 1.25" or 1.50" in size

Hey DSH,

Those are VERY close to the original size. Would love to see some pics next to a ruler - if you dont mind. :)

GREAT FIND!!!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

So... how do I make the Yoke steer left to right and back again...

I first found and marked the center of the back of the yoke
IMAG0289.jpg

I then measured 1/2 inch on either side
IMAG0290.jpg

Marked 1 inch across by laying tape across the PVC
IMAG0291.jpg

Blacked out the areas to remove
IMAG0292.jpg

Then cut a 1 inch by 1/8 in hole
IMAG0293.jpg

How is this going to make the yoke turn? Stay Tuned! My Dremel battery went dead... :)

This is only a practice version. I'm looking for another PVC pipe to match the original design (I'll explain later). But it might make more sense to cut the PVC at the base of the yoke instead of the outside of the PVC... I know this probably doesnt make sense to some of you... but you'll see... :)

Does anybody have a suggestions for the yoke "control"? I was looking at video game flight controls as a possibility.

Ideas?

I talked with my friend Tony at Air Salvage up in Dallas, and he said he could get you matching pairs of non air-worthy but functional control yokes in the correct style for about 50 bucks each. He asked me to talk to you about style and size. He has tons of light aircraft control yokes that would work.

Hey E,

If I read this correctly... your buddy has a set of Vickers yokes? WOW! I'm definately interested! Checking the website now! :)

Not necessarily Vickers, but similar type of yoke. I just sent off an email to him.

Greg,

I'll pay for these if you need me to.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

SK,
The other thing I wanted to mention, you should start a Greeblies discover thread, or website for that matter, cuase I have found your discoveries excellant in helping with my own projects, I am sure for several of us a site or thread that we could go to and find suggestions/links for random parts would be great! Just a thought.

B

I would love it if you guys would use the fullscalefalcon.com site for this purpose.

I've set Greg up as a blog author, and I can set you up as well if you want.

Why the crosspost from 3PO Builders?
