1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

This is such an amazing build. I love seeing updates.

Hi FS,

Thanks so much! I have a 4 day weekend coming... let's hope for some "forward" progress! :)

- - - Updated - - -

Xwing cockpit  I've always said I'd love one connected to a pc running just the x wing series of games and just sit in it and play them be amazing.

Hey LB,

I've always wanted to create a full scale cockpit similar to the filming prop. Think of the cool photos and vids we could create! A full XWing would be an amazing project but unfortunately it wont fit inside the existing warehouse. But... that doesn't mean we can't dream or plan, right?

I was referred here by izzymel from Rebelscum.

You guys are amazing... it's galactic works like these makes me ever proud to be a Star Wars fan.
Being able to build a life size prop is the closest thing that one can feel like being at an actual Star Wars film set I guess...
Do keep up the exceptional work on this outstanding project!

Always a pleasure to see updates Sofa; as for the grill on top of your new piece you should leave it with only one grill (less is more in that case). And yes, one day it'll be done, done and done! (like my Space Station:D)

You need a bigger workshop then lol

But if you going that far might as well do a y wing as well make something like the hangar on yavin 4 now that would be cool.

When my numbers come in on the lottery I'll pay towards it.

Hi Gang,

Time for this weekend's early morning update Part I!

Lots of laser cutting!

HI SK, I don't comment very often but everyday i come here to see your progress... i almost cut, glue, sand , prime and paint everything you do with you! LOL...And what I really like is the creative freedom that you do with the greebies and this is so much fun to witness! After all the time you passed studing clips, pics, and blueprints, you have inner-integrated the style of mix and match .... to finally master the Art of Greebying! LOL (okay i've made that up! ) Can't wait for the next update! Keep up the great work! and happy thankgiving... Cheers from Montréal, Canada!

Hi Gang,

As you can see those new black bases a bit too big. I have to resize and recut - not a big deal.

The base of this oddly shaped greeblie (which I call the "Cockpit Laser Gun") was a bit too short as well. Another "UGH" moment... come on, man... get it together!

On to the exterior / corridor! Started skinning the Volvo panel on Chewie's side - LOTS of steps involved in getting these skinned (more later)

Scott and I then took apart the cockpit entrance and began work on the platform to prep for the new cockpit corridor. There was a LOT of modding to do to this platform to include repositioning a few casters so we didn't get as a far as we would have liked...

Those Volvo panels are sure a major pain...but I have no doubt that they'll look great in the end!

Hey J,

You have NO IDEA! But I think we're making good forward progress. I still need to add some interior frame supports to keep the upper frame from sagging before adhering the upper exterior skin. The interior skin will be VERY interesting as I'll have to create several removable panels so I have access to the mounting points. Fun Fun Fun!

Hi D,

LOL! Thanks so much for joining me on this adventure and the continued support these many years! :)

The greeblies are fun to make and without the much needed images of the original ESB cockpit, there is a certain amount freedom that I do take advantage of. However, if I knew what the real world objects were and money wasn't an issue, this would be a spot on replica. :)

I don't think I've reached the level of the original designers just yet but I DEF appreciate the kind words and your faith in my abilities. You guys are a DEF source of inspiration and after 4.5 years... I'm still plugging away. The good news, a new CNC "might" be on the way (we're DEF looking into it) so there is NO WAY this thread is going to die anytime soon!

Thanks again for the continued support and SO MUCH MORE coming so stay tuned! :)

Hi Gang,

It is with deep sadness that we let you all know that we'll once again be unable to attend next years Star Wars Celebration. :(

The cost of travel, hotels, the amount of time required away from work and conflicting schedules is preventing most of us from attending. We're all very saddened and wish things were different but there are certain realities we just can't ignore. Unless a miracle happens, it looks like another SWC will come and go...

BUT! We're always making forward progress and there will be LOTS of changes coming with the new year! So as I always say... Stay Tuned! :)

Look, it's only one more season.

You must understand I need you here, SofaKing.

That's what you said when Fuzz and Izzy left

Where are you going?:D

Roughneckone:cool

It looks like I'm going nowhere... I have to finish building this cockpit... (Resigned to his fate, SK paddles away from the computer and heads back to the warehouse)
