The greeblie is spot on YAY! Fast delivery too, it takes weeks for stuff to eventually turn up over here lol. It' a nice colour contrast to have something gold-ish in there. I think it would be ok to remove the wires as there's no way the part can be used again for its original purpose.

I love this thread, a lot of work done constantly, a lot of pictures and of course a lot of parts! Keep it going! :)

if you had to put a percentage of completeness where would you be at and what time frame you have in mind to complete it???

Hi Gang,

Normally this is the time where there would be LOTS of LOTS of updates with like 100+ photos and the entire cockpit would be lit and finished and then I tell you they decided to use my cockpit in the Han Solo stand alone films... unfortunately, that's just not reality. My computer crashed (video card) over the weekend and is currently being fixed. I'll post images as soon as I can.

:facepalm

Can't wait to see those panels all lit up!

You and me BOTH! I chatted with Daniel and Jake and they ready! We're VERY close to getting the LEDs started. I just need to touch up a few panels and add a clear semi-gloss coat. There are 4 panels ready to go! :)

Keep up the good work and eager to see that original greeblie:)

Hey J,

I found another on Ebay. The seller wants $25 for the unit. I might bite the bullet and just do it. I would rather have two originals than a resin copy! It's going to look unreal with them in place!

Agreed - on everything you said ;) I've been looking at screen grabs and I think the designers did in fact cut the wires clean off. And you're right - they will never used for their original purpose again. They haveanswered to a higher calling. Just think... all their lives they sat in an aircraft just waiting to be used as non functional awesome greeblie!

Hey Kev,

Thanks so much! I've been pushing myself these past few days to knock out these panels! I've also had some good luck with parts lately! Let's hope it lasts!

Oh noes! I'm gettin' the shakes!!

I know I know... I've been having a tough time getting these pin stripes done... I have nothing to print out or reference! Dang graphics card!

Sorry for the off-topic, but while Sofa regroups, here's a little something to hold you over... JJ with new X-Wing... http://youtu.be/xWBGrkc360M

I was is shock when I saw the vid. Watched it 100+ times. The designers really nailed the weathering and overall look and feel! I also love the integrated ladder. Paying homage to RMQs original design was a real touch of class. It's a beautiful piece of artwork!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

A bit of an update. The computer is down and out and it looks like I'll a new PC. UGH... I'm also a gamer so I'm looking at 900-1500 bucks! That cuts into some serious MF funds! BOOOOOO... Time to take the old PC behind the barn and put her out of her misery. Moment of silence...

Anywho, Starkiller forwarded me the pinstripe / greeblie layout for the ESB nose panels Great news, the pinstripes are really easy. After sanding and paint they should be done in no time. However, I have to think about how to move forward with the lower nose panels. Since I'm adding the 12", this will significantly modify the lower panels and create the "rounded" cone shape we're all familiar with.

My concern with the cylinder and cone shape is the amount of weight this put onto the lower panels. Again, I have to be careful with how I move forward.

Lots of photos coming!

I think I'm starting to go into withdrawal.... must have update photos.... ;)

Having to replace something is always a mixed blessing -hate to spend the money, love the idea of getting something new and shiny.

Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you.

Hey SB,

The PC is wasted... the video card went up in smoke and took the motherboard with it (along with apps, email, contacts, etc). UGH... Luckily ALL the "files" are on the back up drive. WHEW! I hope to be back up and running tomorrow or Saturday. Having a new PC will be nice, but $1,000 bucks hurts the wallet! Not to mention the time it will take to reload ALL the apps. Never fun...

Good news, I have a TON of greeblies to laser cut and still more painting and pin striping. Lots of pics coming soon!

Hi Gang,

Well... the new PC is here and I am slowly trying to get everything off the old PC onto the new one... I'm working with Win 8.1 (UGH). It might be a few days before I can begin posting more pics. In between working on the PC and the cockpit panels, I can only do so much and I think working the panels is MUCH more constructive. BUT... I do have to get my drawing tools installed so I can get all the greeblies laser cut.

Will this madness never end?
