Hi Gang,

Updates...

Started working on the beams and getting the color correct along with adding details to the instrument panels

Finally added the little black dots to these rockers

Then added a few other details

I really like the look of the painted centers of the knobs so...

And now its time for paint! I made the mistake of using the darker color on the beams when in fact its the lighter and then an even lighter color for the other side of the beam - come on, gang... you're supposed to keep me on my toes!

I know... kinda boring...

Hi Gang,

I don't know what's more frustrating... finding out that I used the wrong color to paint the beams... or the filler I used to fill the holes didn't do the trick... Oh Murphy my old friend... we meet again at last...

Not sure if I mentioned but the knobs with the black centers look cool. They remind me of Artoo's little holoprojector lenses/swivelly eyes

Not much to report... Got the first layer of the lighter grey... What a HUGE difference. It's actually nice introducing a new color.

Thanks so much! When it will be finished? Oh man... I have no idea! Not sure if you're aware... this is only the display "model" that travles to all the Conventions. We still have an entire second cockpit to build once the frame is up... So we get to do this fun ALL over again...

I really like the black centers as well. I think it makes the knobs pop! I'm going to cast / mold several of the knobs so I have extras - gota have those greeblies for the rest of the MF...

Good to see all that progress. I like to see the panels being detailed out. We're doing a similar task. I don't find it much fun cutting out panels with a saw, but do rather enjoy the striping and adding graphic details. Working with the painted details is fun. What width and brand of stripes are you using?

Things are moving slow at the moment. Work has me pretty tied-up and I'm still awaiting the arrival of my printer. I hope once it gets here I can start printing and that will get me modeling again. Your ambition inspires me! : )

I don't mind the cutting as long as everything goes smoothly... It's the filling and sanding I don't like - its that final step to get where I want to be. That, to me, is the most time consuming. But I really enjoy all the little details and greeblies.

The pinstriping I'm using is 1/8". But you can get them in various sizes
