Adding the trademark tooth gap & putting the chrome skeleton hydraulics in the cheek will be stunning.
The " Get Out! " pose is classic.

It is nice to see an original take on the original 80's Terminator that no one has attempted.

I think "Get Out!" is an even more iconic line than "I'll Be Back."

My favorite Arnold look..absolutely love the zombie-a-like appearance. Can't wait to see this one finished..I'd really love to have it.

This is the creepiest Terminator look ever... with his rotting skin and even bloodier damage than part 2. I also noticed that while sculpting this one, the face damage is truer to real skin damage than the 'stage 5' T2 bust, which is more stylized. I'm sure that was because we're going to see him a little more and also have to like him Part 1 he was a killing machine we had to fear!

Your batting a thousand Howard - you nailed Freddy and this T1 'puppet' looks equally as impressive! I love that your going to incorporate his trademark gap tooth. Can't wait to see this finished!

I think the tooth gap is going to really make this one pop in the final piece. And there is something about the 'puppet' feel that I'm shooting for with this one. I'm still debating if I need to make him look a little more 'real' than the old school 'slightly fake' '84 look of the actual Winston puppet. I think I'm going to shoot for right in between.

Looks like it's going to be another outstanding piece. Howard, I have wondered about casting the head of the Arnie I'm sculpting in silicon, but don't know much about the process. I realise I would most likey have to get a clay pressing and rework it, but is the process much the same as resin casing?

The silicone process is something that takes time to learn... there is a huge learning curve. There is plenty of resources out there to learn: online, books, dvd's, etc... but I found that I have my own techniques now, my own little 'secret recipe' type steps... that I kind of stumble on with each new piece. Trial and error

Yeah, I agree with every word!
it is in fact the creepiest Terminator look, out of all movies. T2 was heavily damaged, but didn't have this level of "horror" in the appearance.

I simply can't wait to see progress on this Howard.

What was approach to sculpting on the damaged areas?

Did you sculpt the arnie head normal and then start digging in or were you able to go straight into a damaged form?

You can't go right to damage, the main forms still need to be there to work from. It's a little easier since it's doesn't have to be so refined, like the human eye, for example.

I was just thinking, this is my 5th Arnold... I can sculpt this Austrian in my sleep at this point :lol

I watched T1 again last night because of this dumb thread.

What a great flick.

The damaged areas have such a unique feel to them in the movie. The edges have an almost "puckered" feel to them. Like the wrinkled edges on a rotten apple. Fun stuff.

Oh man so did i, What a film, I at least watch it every couple of weeks. T2 would be my favourite but T1 one has such a grittyness and horror about it its hard not to love it and Howards doing it great justice.

Exactly! The wounds in T1 were a little more 'real' in comparison to T2's. I think because in T2 we needed to feel for him and like him more. I always figured less blood because the wounds were fresh, but blood would still flow pretty quick, so it must be so he wasn't as 'scary'? He even has the flaps of skins hanging in T1... it's way more accurate to a real wound.
