Re: My AT-AT Driver helmet (and collection)

Recently I got a real deactivated British Sterling Mk4/L2A3 SMG Stormtrooper blaster with real M-40 Tank scope on it, and accurate T-tracks. It even comes with a cool metal plaque and an official deactivation certificate from UK (so is legal here too). It looks like the one used by Han in the detention block scene when he shoots the control panels or like Version C from The Parts of Star Wars.

You mean this is the ACTUAL prop from the movie???!!! O.O

No, I wish. It is made to look like it as close as possible, by using the same parts and greeblies as the ILM guys used back then for SW. :)

Among all the photos of your collection & other photos I've come across in the net,
so far this piece looks the best to me in regards to being a very close 'look-alike' to
an actual prop from the original movie....

Man, always love to review your photos over & over again...
your collection always reminds me I need to collect based on 'quality' , not quantity...
and whenever I get lost in hoarding SW stuff, I come back to these photos to remind myself of that.

Respect to you my friend, respect. :D

Thanks, Enrico

That is the Lonewolf Scout made of vac formed ABS halves with 3M speedglass headband and bolts, the same way the screen used ones were made back for ROTJ, you can see more pics of it here

I think it goes without saying that your collection is impressive, but I just wanted to say that your presentation is outstanding. Very well organized, displayed, and thought out.

Currently my prop room is in poor shape. It used to be a prop room/office but we moved the computer out and made our living room into a sitting/ computer room. My collection has outgrown the cabinets and shelves. Currently the desk the computer used to sit on is covered in blaster rifles. I hate that since it is not how I want to display my collection. It looks exactly like it is... I had no proper way to display them so I put them where I could find room.

It is not that I don't know what to do, it's just that in order to do it, I have to get some new cabinets and shelves to replace the others that allow for better displaying. The problem is that it costs money and since there are still items I want in my collection, I would rather fund those items.. but I have no place to put them if and when I do get them. Ugg.

Thanks for the information!

Thank you. :) I know this can be a vicious circle. But I think it is important to get the items you want first. This is because IMO after you get all or at least most of the items you want in your collection, only then you can buy/make the cabinets to fit everything perfectly. Cabinets you can buy/make later, some opportunities for props and collectibles can be very rare/scarce.

Thanks for the information!

No problem :)

I really want a DL AT-AT. I hope to acquire one soon. I have the original displays that go in the chest box that I've been waiting to install.

Very cool! Are you getting DL armor and helmet? Gray or white?

I took some outdoor pics of my E-11 Stormtrooper blaster after fixing my old camera:
