“There and Back Again; A Mystery Chunk Tale”

if somebody is mad, they are mad because they wanted to either know, or buy in before anyone else. They're basically mad because they couldn't do to others what they perceive was done to them.

I think that’s an incredibly cynical perspective. I think the members of this forum have, for the most part, demonstrated that they have everyone’s best interests in mind for the good of the hobby. I think the way BRRogers revealed this awesome discovery is an example of that. I think your lightsaber reference book, which is free for all to read, is another great example of that. I just hope that as the initial demand levels out, there is enough of a supply, such that we can see these being offered on the open forum for all to obtain.

With all that being said, I hope I’ve gotten my point across. Regardless, I think I’ve derailed this thread enough as it is. I want to reiterate how awesome this discovery is. Thank you to BRRogers , et al., for tracking this down and revealing it in such an entertaining way!

You're not wrong.... I am cynical.. hahaha

its been pretty amazing lately with the new discoveries and the openness. I'm looking forward to getting some myself someday soon since I've always wanted to make one of these and its impressive how much has been discovered over this past summer.

It has been a productive summer!
More people with more time at home maybe?
Not sure WHY.

Its atrocious - it happened with graflexes, any other part you can think of... if someone is willing to pay a stupid amount of money it changes things. Ontop if that.. youre right, i hope they dont flip those at a huge markup... people suck, it ruins the hobby.

Anyway - has anyone figured out how many bends the legs can take before snapping?

Something I intend to figure out this week on a particularly worn one ;)

annealing the high carbon by heating red then allowing to air cool; followed by then pinching the arms on the rivet should alleviate that a bit.
That’s what I did but others (I think scottjua) have done it differently.
I’m possibly overthinking somethings ;)

I got about 3 adjustments out of one and then left it for fear of pushing my luck.

I have question. Can anyone tell me what size hole these things fit into? or if they think that the hole in the V2, where it fits, was enlarged to take it. I ask as it may shed a little light about the wiring for ANH. None of the pictures I have seen actually show the wire entry point.
