The I HATE PAWN stars thread!

Wow, Rick looked like a ****** in that vid.

And look how crappy the shop looked back then. They've definitely put some money into upgrading the joint.

They actually TELL the customer what they will sell it for and often have an appraiser tell them what it would bring at top dollar auction.

They are in Vegas. People are desperate. The Oldman was brilliant to open it there.

Plus... do you have ANY idea how much it would cost to rent a building where they are? Even if they own it it's not cheap to have a shop in Vegas meesa thinks.

vegas has the worst home market in america. and every spot of land available for casinos is already built on. if they could keep building casinos, then t he surrounding land would be valuable. but its just sand otherwise.

i hate the show because they play it way to much I'm just tired of seeing it on. and of course they rip people off that's the American way. if the sellers want to get what it's worth then they sould sell it to a collector of wise deal

I know they obtain some of their items by having people from around the country bring their stuff to them. A friend of mine (from Maine) took some very old Olympic game posters to LV to see if they were interested in having them on the show.

He had to contact the show, though. They responded that they were interested in looking at the item further to which he then shipped the posters to LV and then flew out (on his own dime).

Yeah, and nobody is forcing these people to sell to them... if they think they can do better elsewhere, nothing is stopping them from looking! People go to pawn shops for the convenience of not getting their items appraised themselves. If they don't like what the owners offer, tough crap! Especially now with the internet; why would you go to a pawn shop in the first place, if some sucker on Ebay would pay you twice as much! Personally, I like the show (except for Chumlee-- what a worthless pile of human crap)
