Gray Fox MGS1 Build

A movie, even if pushed to 3 hours would still have to be super watered down to fit everything. A series could be really cool....but with so much in the Metal Gear world, where do you even start?
I do like the MGS3 feel in the 60s, things not as complex as the later games. But not sure that would transition to a show as well.

They would be better off doing it as a "series of miniseries"; I'd start off with the original Metal Gear, then progress to 2, then Solid and so on. Maybe do the ones with Big Boss (Outside of the numbered ones) in-between or something.

MGS is NOT a story you tell in one movie.

I appreciate it! I’m trying my best to make it as nice as I can. This is my first project using EVA foam, so I’m really learning as I go. MGS 3 and 4 are amazing. I bought the legacy collection last year, and replayed MGS 1 for the first time in over 10 years. It was difficult to go back to the simple controls, haha. Kinda like going from “over the shoulder” Resident Evils then playing the originals with tank controls. I would love to see a remake. “The Twin Snakes” was nice visually, but the soundtrack changes hurt it for me.

They need to keep the original audio, OST and voice cast work and ditch the crappy graphics.

BTW: loving how Grey Fox's cybersuit is coming out!!

Just wonder how live action would handle the codec stuff.
Boss fight starts, Snake says, "Hold on, I need to talk with my team for about 27 minutes and figure out how to beat you."

I think he would just have to talk/yell while fighting, or a good hiding spot if not in battle.

Hey guys. Sorry I haven’t updated much the past few weeks, as I’ve been pretty busy. My little brother got married recently and had to go out of town. I managed to tie up a few loose ends though.

I got the neck piece nearly finished. All that’s left is the throat part.

Using the snap button at the top of the spine, the head is able to turn quite a bit.

Because I lengthened the spine, I had to remake the shoulder blade pieces. They turned out more accurate this time.

I started making the outer plates of the shoulder blades, but I unfortunately ran out of contact cement. I’ll have to pick up more this weekend. But, it didn’t stop me from getting the general shape started. There’s excess at the top that will be cut out, so the shape isn’t final.

I plan on continuing with the back plates this weekend. I appreciate everyone continuing to check out this thread, and for all the newcomers commenting. It keeps me going on this thing. Have a great day everyone!

Its a model by Kotobukiya at just under 9 inches. Not super big, but looks pretty detailed on on badtoystore, its only $80. Was over $100 on Amazon. They have a few versions, including MGS4 damagaed Rex.
I like the original cleaner unused Rex. Probably just weather it lightly.

And then theres this one I just found....nice looking, but WAY out of my range. I think thats the $500 one, just already made and painted, and on ebay, so they boost the price by 5 million percent. At least it says free shipping...lol.

Here is another picture of that bigger one from an article of 5 years priced at $490.
Looks like it comes all painted and built, with just a few parts to snap on...so that price tag of 5500 is just insane.
Maybe they dont make it anymore...not sure. I don't think I would have room anyways. But it sure does look nice.

I’m right there with ya. The return to Shadow Moses Island was my favorite part of that game. Pretty much facing Metal Gear’s least mentioned boss the entire time…..The Nostalgia.
