Enfys Nest Speeder Bike WIP

Hey all, I have been itching to do a scratch-build/kit-bash for a while. After searching around the internet for some inspiration I found some studio promo art from the Solo movie. It was artwork for a Enfys Nest speeder bike.

I found a couple additional pics, then John Simmons sent me a link to a maquette he built based on the same art, this totally sent my project in a different direction and gave me a ton of new ideas on how to build it.

Not much to show at this point, mostly just the front fairing done. I don’t like the width of the fairing and I think the styrene is too thick, so tonight I am going to sit down and try it in some thinner styrene and play with the thickness a bit.

Overall though, excited about this build! I will be taking a little creative license with it, but the feel will be the same…

The last few days have been pretty busy, haven’t had much time to do anything. But I did finish making a new shell. I felt the first one was from styrene that is too thick and I made the shell to wide.

So this time I opted for thinner styrene and reduced the width of the over all shell. I also decided to cut it out in a single part, from the front to back. I guess you could say my first shell was proof of concept?

I also started on some kit-bashing for the engine. I am not liking where this is going either, but it has given me ideas for something that I think will work. I think the big bundles of wire is that throws this off.

More progress, I am definitely liking the more narrow shell. I changed the engine up and have started detailing it. Not sure how far past the nose it is going to sit, it is something I need to play with.

Not massive jumps, but some progress.
