Death Star tiles reference?

...I think I need to trawl the y-wing threads...I cant even understand how people have worked out this sub-assembly!!!...

With the help of an original back plate casting

This part is also used on the Y-wing on several places, cut in smaller pieces.

Phew! Thank goodness for that! I was beginning to believe there was some on this forum that had REAL superpowers!

...so do you think it was made specifically for the back of the neck...or could it have just been a 'general' sub-assembly? Is there any evidence of other sub-assemblies that don't seem to have an obvious 'function'?...By this I mean that it IS obvious that the x-wing droid strip was made to fit in that space.

It was made for the back of the Y-Wing cockpit, there's no doubt !
