**death star poker table**

That's the perfect reply for a poker player! :D

Do you guys just play texas? No limit? Or mixed games as well?

Mike

Its pretty much solid Texas Hold'em, I have a couple of groups that play, we average about 9 players per game, once ever other week. During the football season we play every Sunday that the Broncos have an away game, if the Broncos are home, we play Saturday night. So the players are excited for me to get this thing at least to the point we can play on it. My other table is a store bought, and a little small.

Death star poker - update finally

It has been a very long time since this project was designed, and it never really got started, partially because I am A.D.D. and have 15 other projects posted here (None finished yet) and the other part due to the cold Winter weather, that keeps me out of my shop:cry

Now, i will admit straight up that seeing Greedo's HIC Poker Table Build, I was very inspired to start up again. If you have not looked at that thread, shame on you!

So I hope Greedo doesn't mind, but I am stealing a few of his great ideas, (Thanks Chris for posting)

I have started to finally put the table together, and have made a decent amount of progress this weekend. As Always, please post your comments, suggestions, and dare I say . . . criticism?

I love the idea. How about haveing the X-wing and Tie fighters racing aound on a slot track. It would even give you something else to bet on ;)

I have a set of "Micro Machine" vehicles that I am planning on putting in, and then you had to ruin it with suggesting that they race!!!:cry I only cry because now I have to figure out how to make it work:lol, and now YOU have to help me with it. :confused

thanks man!

There was a slot race track from the late 70's that had a Darth Vader Tie Fighter car and Luke x'wing car. Find those cars and put a slot track in that they will run on. They look star wars, but not accurate to the ships, what do you want for a slot car? Search ebay, they look pricey now. Maybe get a set and copy the body shells and put them on new cars. That way you can have extras and paint them up nice. Just a thought.

Just looked, they were actually slot-less power-passers. Pretty steep, they want about $68 as set of cars.

Thanks man! I think I will stick with the plan for now. by the time I get the lighting, model, felt, etc this sucker will be expensive enough:eek

(But I will leave a way to make this in the future for sure!)

Thanks for the feedback guys. This table MUST to be ready to play on by May 21, so you will see it done. The death star trench is something that I am planning on detailing over time, as I really want the detail of the trench to be great. The rest of the table though should be complete in a few weeks.

I worked hard on it today, and I will again tomorrow, I'll be sure to post pics tomorrow night!

Glad I could add some inspiration to your project. Your table is coming along nicely and I love the theme.

The small touch panel on the table will control the Audio/Video, but myself and a coworker also wrote a program that will allow the panel to control the Timer and Blinds for a poker tournament. It is completely customized, and you can change the "round" time and adjust the "Blinds" on the fly. There is also program in the system that will allow me to control the lights above the table, and the lighting in the table.

Death star poker table ***** update!

Well, the project is going forward, it has seen it's first game but has a long way to go. The base of the table needs miles of work and a slight redesign, but the trench work has started.

So far I am fairly happy with the progress, it needs a ton more work to get even close to what I am after, but its been fun so far! I hope you enjoy the updates!
