1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

where did you find/ what exactly is the thing youre using for the throttle?

Hi J,

I found the "throttle quadrant" on Ebay. It was a used piece designed for a Piper Apache. I was able to pick it up for only 49 dollars. It must have been a misprint because similar ones were going for 300-600 dollars - I really lucked out.

Here is an exact duplicate of my part:

If you go to Ebay, type in throttle quadrant. You'll see several for sale.

I hope this helps. :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

heh, I had a few guesses, but yeah I had no idea for sure. Definitely slapped my forehead on that one "ohhhhhh, duhhh!"
I wasn't even thinking about that part of the structure. Guess I was too focused on the main body.

LOL! Dont slap too hard... dont want to knock anything else loose...

I just gotta say that this has to be the bat-**** craziest build on here. And I love it. enjoying the progress.:thumbsup

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Whoo! I was right, I'm sooo gonna enjoy this one, good call :)

It's been wet/damp as hell all week, and the clear resin doesn't like it much, so I'm holding off doing casts till its somewhat dryer. It gives me time to do all the rockers and do a multi mould, so it's not all bad, more on that soon :thumbsup

Hey C,

It was a tough call... I was strongly considering doing the other "cockpit related" build but this one seemed more interesting. :) And dang expensive too! PVC reducers are NOT cheap... especially when you mutliply it by 4 then 2! lol

No worries on the casting. We have LOTS of time. I'm still in a quasi holding pattern with the console. I'm waiting for all the LEDs to arrive...

More to come!
