Revell master series 1/72 Falcon decals

This is strange. I have at least 3 decal sheets and they are all the same. They appear to be undersized. Now i dont know if it was the same on the original fine molds version , but these revell ones just seem too small.
I normally paint these on so i have never realised before. Nobody seems to have mentioned it anywhere.

I have the Fine Molds set. I never used them though so I am not sure if they were undersized or not.

This may be an attempt to mimic the paint on the studio model? A few of the panels are not painted to the edges...and look like that.

Edit:...but looking again...it looks like it is not just that they are short at the edges...it looks like they are about 2% too small. Weird.
