My son has an inexpensive (cheap) 2-piece Kylo Ren Helmet. As a father/son project we spent a couple of weekends "fixing it up".

The helmet costs about $20 US, so while it has a lot of problems it would be silly to complain about the quality.

Sorry, no WIP pictures but here's what we did:
- Remove the velcro strips and epoxy the two halves together
- Fill seams with 2-part plumbers epoxy and sand
- Dremel (hopefully) movie accurate damage
- Dremel accurate weld lines
- Add hammered metallic texture to the surface
- Repaint the silver with metallic chrome paint
- Repaint the helmet flat black
- Dry brush damage and weathering
