Started on Friday & my first test piece is done.
Was going to model it all myself but I found a decent model for purchase on cgtrader that was royalty free & thought I'd use that as a base (well worth it considering the price of the model & the hours it had saved!).
So far so good, needs a couple of tweaks but nothing major.

This phaser is not at all hollow, is it?

If not, would hollowing it out be difficult (for adding LED electronics and switching head motor)?
Just wondering :)

.
Yeah it's a hollow 1mm shell just now. Was planning to possibly have a servo in it for switching the phaser. Not worked it all out yet.
