Captain America square enix variant

So I've been toying around with my next armor cosplay to make and I figured why not another square enix. Thought about batman but I can't find one I really like so I decided to do there captain America.

I've made most of my templates up I still need to do the abs, thighs, and belt but wanting to get the other pieces made before making them. Ill also try and make this as picture heavy as I can.

I plan on using my woverine helmet template from eye of sauron files and modify it. Once I get the chest complete I'll start the helmet.

Chest armor

Just a few small details and the front should be finished. I ran out of contact cement and went back to hot glue,( I realize now how much I love contact cement) so I'll be making a trip to lowes to grab some.
The star was worry but happy with the way it came out. I'll start the back tonight and then the collar pieces. Thanks for looking.

Since I ran out of floor mat foam I started working on the helmet. I feel like I'm making a flash cowl but anyway here is the progress so far.

I used my Woverine helmet file and modified it a bit to fit my new design. Just now started layering the foam on and should have this mostly completed tomorrow night. I think I'm changing the wings I think I don't really like the ones on the figure but then again maybe not we'll see. I should be picking up some more foam soon and then I'll start back on the chest.

Didn't get as I had hope tonight but it's getting there.

Still have to heat shape it a bit and make the other jaw and wings. Also need to trim off a bit of excess on the side picture to round it out a bit before adding the wings.

Thank you. I was actually just thinking about that this morning. I hadn't plan to but the design looks so good that I think I am. I've been working on a foam shield that I will prob convert over to the new design.

Helmet is almost finished I'm on the filler stages and getting rid of the ugly seams.
Decided to go with the figures wing design they grew on me and pretty happy with the way they turned out.

Started working on the shield since I haven't made it to the store to buy foam for the armor.
I taped off my shield and drew the new design on. Removed the tape and cut it out. I'm going to have to trim it down for one section more than Likely since to make the dome I trimmed away a section of the foam.

Starting to come together still a ways to go. The silver is just a sharpie guide line to make my grooves. Going to go over them again and heat them back to to try and expand them a bit more.

Thank you. I was hesitate to make it at first but I'm really glad I decided to go for it. I like the little extra detail they added to the over all design of the shield I feel like it makes it pop out more.

Thanks man! I know I had the same thought when I was designing the templates lol. And on a side note looking forward to seeing your red skull I saw the helmet for it the other day and can't wait to see it all put together.

What are you using as a filler? I have been starting to work with foam a little bit and what ever you are using looks like it works good.

I use Dap kwik seal.

I first saw it in one of evil teds videos on seams and I've used it ever since. He has a really good video on explaining it. But a quick version is apply, remove the excess with water. Wait for it to dry and seal and just repeat until you are happy with the result. Hope this helps.
