My son has one made by RandomSabers and he loves it.

Ow my guilt.

My buddy and his kid was over, and he goes "Hey, Kiddo... show us your Luke Powers"...

So he force pushes his dad away.

I just happened to have my ESB saber close by so said, "Hey Luke, here ya go!" and handed him the graflex... he was ALL over it. "Just like in the movie!"

What I didn't realize until he started walking away with it that he thought I gave it to him.

When I took it back he looked crushed.

so the question is, between now and when they are over next weekend... with VERY little time, and only what I have around me...

How close to a Luke saber replica can I make???

STAY TUNED!

Oh man-- you're way kinder than me. I would have shot the kid with a tranquilizer to make sure he didn't get away with it.

I built 2 more over the last week, the first that light up. I used small LED flashlights with some jury-rigged filters for color effect. Before I get into wiring more powerful LEDs, I thought it would be fun to try this.

This is lightsaber 4.0. The dial near the emitter actually turns, but the activation button is at the bottom of the pommel. The crystal is housed near the emitter instead of at the bottom, as in 3.0 (the tape grip one). It's not removable, but the pommel is so that the flashlight can be changed out or the color replaced.

This is 5.0 which is the first I've made that wasn't for a friend since lightsaber 1.0 (the very first one I posted here). I may do more to this one's hilt, but I am kinda proud of it as is since I think it's simple and elegant and the color scheme is nice. If I was doing it again, I'd use black leather instead of the foam material I used for the grips, though. This one also has a removable crystal chamber in the emitter area.

This looks really good. Looks very similar to a saber I made in CAD last summer, been waiting to get my hands on a metal lathe to make this. Main difference from yours and mine is that the black grip part for mine is knurled and the emitter and pommel are different. (Included is a screenshot of the properties if you don't believe me and thought I ripped off your idea, which I want to be clear that I did not do).

Great job! Would you be willing to share a parts list?

Okay-- the one I was showing a page or so back is done!

I'm calling it The Bulldog-- because bulldogs are so ugly you can't help but like them anyway. This is a lot of weird orphan parts, and it's a stout, ugly little thing-- and I love it for that. Somewhere along the way, probably with all the Luke saber talk lately, I decided to be inspired by the shared stunt saber, with it's rough painted copper, mismatched metal tones and asymmetry, and sort of let that guide this build.

If I had similar parts, it might be fun to do a really clean hero version...
