Hi Everyone. I've wanted to do a spiderman suit since the first Toby Spiderman movie.
Since i never had the money to do it "right", i have to just settled and found this suit on Zentai-Zentai.com.
I put in my measurements and had the U zipper and horizontal crotch zipper added.
I think it came out pretty good. Cons of the suit are probably the tailoring. some of the webbing lines don't meet up and the sole part of the feet come up to much on my heel. So here is my process of making it the best i can.
Tools/Materials.
1 - Tulip Metallics black Paint X2
Tulip Slick Deep Red/Navy blue X2/Black.
2 - Liquitex Pro Heavy Body acrylic paint. Brush
3 - Gorilla Glue
4 - J-B Weld PlasticWeld quick-setting Epoxy.
5 - Rare Earth Magnets. Thin disk pack of 12 and Cylinder pack of 12
6 - Zentai-Zentai amazing Spiderman 3d print.
7 - TJack Lens and universal face shell set.
8 - Scuba boots.
9 - Krylon Gloss Black and Enamal.
10 - Rawlings Sports cup with Fitted shorts.
11 - (still unsure to purchase) FunkyBod Muscle shirt.
12 - Shoe Goo
Alright, now thats out of the way, i first started with the face shell.
Drilled vent holes on top, bottom, eye holes and slits for elastic bands.
I also drilled a slight inset for the disk magnets to sit in face shell and the lens frames for the cylinder magnets (which needed to be deeper)
I then Glued the Magnets to face shell. Constantly checking back for correct placement. Traced the lens on the face shell after shaping them with heat gun. Then i added elastic bands on the face shell by hand sewing it. vertical to lower horizontal.
After that, glued the lens to the frame with brush on crazy glue. (little goes a long way) After setting, Gorrilla glued magnets to frames and held in place by vice grips to cure. I then Taped off the back of frames and the lens with blue painters tape before spray painting the frames. Two coats of the gloss black and 2 coats of enamel.
After that, J-B weld the lens to the frames and magnets from the back to really seal everything together.
So this is the out come so far. Will continue to update as i work on it. Next is finding a mannequin my size to get a good surface for painting.
Waiting on Scuba boots to put on the suit. thats going to be a pain.
Having trouble with the excess fabric bunching around the eyes. Anyone have suggestions?
