Also, if anyone has quick info on the chord attached to the bottle cork (where to find a new one) I'd appreciate it, as it appears the one I bought has snapped.

I can't speak to complete accuracy but I used simple 1" masking tape for the stripe that runs down the side since that seemed to be the general opinion over on the Trek prop boards since it was see-through from the other side.

As for paint- I used orange/red engine spray paint from NAPA. I masked all the sections that were leather and buckles since I didn't want to take it apart and applied several layers.

Since I couldn't find an orange leather shoelace for the cork I simply spray painted one with the same paint I used for the rest of the bottle.

Did you get the light amber/ accurate bottle? If so I'm jealous.
