My buddy went as the Dude this time, it was funny because there were hipsters on the subway that kept looking at him, but didn't say anything because they wanted to maintain their "I don't care" attitude.

Nicely done, by the way. (y)thumbsup I forgot to mention that above.

As for "not dealing with amateurs here", in my experience The Big Lebowski is one of those movies that people either really like, or really don't, with very few "casual" fans. Most of the people who have posted in this thread clearly fall into the "really like" category.

Speaking of which, has anyone else been ordained by The Church of the Latter-Day Dude? :cool

I'm thinking of going as the Dude for Halloween, it wouldn't be too hard to get a proper sweater/jacket made if I know someone who sews alot would it?

Not to be too picky, but they don't have Skilynx lenses. Skilynx lenses have a bigradiant mirror and the Dude's glasses aren't mirrored. Most likely it's a PX2000 lens but may be Unilynx, but that one's really way too dark to use most of the time.

Sorry, I don't mean to revive an old thread but searching through and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for where to get a decent looking beard/goatee and wig? Thanks.

Yeah the movie lenes were most liley replaced, or could be prescription, 99% sure the frames are the 5003 Brown. No where to be found BTW, as is the BB&B robe.

Yeah, pretty sure about the id on the frame also, including the brown color. I doubt the lenses were replaced though. I'm thinking one of the two I mentioned. I've had both of those lenses and considering the lighting in most of the scenes, it could be either one. Donnie's scattering in particular shows the lenses are a not extremely dark amber. I really think they're standard Vuarnet PX200 lenses.

HI, thanks to all for this thread. Just finishing up my halloween costume this year and picked up 3 of the Perry Ellis robes at Macy's. Thought some of you might be interested in the other 2. They are as close to perfect as I have found. They are the exact color and maybe the exact robe. They were $39.99 but with coupon and discounts they came to aount $32. One size fits all. I have included a few pics. These are new and have never been opened (the picture on the manequin is my robe). Not trying to make money just thought it was a great find and wanted to share it with true Big Lebowski fans. Let me know if you are interested. I can ship via FedEx ground pretty cheap (maybe $3).
