Some new work on my Kill Bill sword.
I met issues with gold plating, that ruined my moral and I left the project for more than on eyear...
I get the kojiri cast, but as it was really not nice, I decided to make a full new engraving to get a good result.
So I carved it with a dremel, removing all details and enhancing design, and then I pinched with a nanako pinch to get a sharp nanako finish on castle rock background.
I will have to make a new sheat, because my actual sheat end is larger than the kojiri.
I will probably buy some black japanese lacquer, genuine gold powder, genuine gold foil and make a genuine horn kuri gata, so the final sword will be a full real japanese sword, only the seppa will keep the iaito quality level, other parts will be better (fully self made, or fully re-shaped and engraved iaito parts)
I am also thinking about making a new tsuba by myself, to get a better old look, and try to find genuine old gold plated seppas, but it's really hard to find, especially a matching 41 and 43 mm pair...
Starting to think about mercury gold plating process, it would be really great, because accurate process for authentic japanese sword.
