Are all the replicas on EBay and Etsy basically the same swords just with some minor details changed ?
All of the 1095 seem to be in China .No, just like Highlander swords, there are million of them. The quality varies greatly, from cheap crap to fine grade. Look for hand forged, folded 1095 steel or better, that's about where the good ones start.
Cool lot thanks for sharing buy “ Kyle” is a piece of sh** Grifter I have personal experience with that rodent . Pretty sure he got booted from the RPF .I'm definitely no expert but I do have some experience with purchasing swords. I only have one 1095 Katana, the two highlander Swords are T10 made by Dayle Kyle, the rest are 1065, the European ones are a mix of Dark Sword Armory and Cold Steel, with the two Witcher swords are just something I found on eBay and are of unknown origin. I heard about that, that's unfortunate, but not when I dealt with him in 2020, these were the best prop buying experiences I ever had. One thing I forgot to add is some Chinese sword makers will engrave your name in Kangi on the blade which is pretty cool, I have a few of them like that. Nice rack, I mean nice rack of swords. I have a few Highlander swords I put together using my 1095 Hanwei blades and H1 tsuka and tsubas that cost me about $100 total and was not very hard. I was interested in buying the season one Highlander katana with a functional blade and Point Gallery and The Sword Experience were the only two I found. PG is asking $700 to mount one of my blades on their Musashi tsuka, $850 for a complete sword with the Musashi tsuka. From the pictures on the PG site and FB page the Musashi tsuka and season one tsuka look very similar and they said they do not do any Highlander 1 swords or sell loose parts. Their swords all look nice so how was your experience? I contacted Texas Steel props and have not had a reply. I read Daryl Kyle purchased TSP in 2012 so they might be partners?. Ziest Armories has some nice-looking work also. Is the second sword down on your rack the season one tsuka or Musahi tsuka from PG?I'm definitely no expert but I do have some experience with purchasing swords. I only have one 1095 Katana, the two highlander Swords are T10 made by Daryl Kyle, some are 1065, one is a magnesium alloy and one is very old which I have not info on. the European ones are a mix of Dark Sword Armory and Cold Steel, with the two Witcher swords are just something I found on eBay and are of unknown origin. Is Daryl Kyle the lead artist or owner of Point Gallery ? I have no experience buying from them or Texas Steel Props but want a Highlander season one tsuka but they are the only ones so its $700 to mount one of my blades on the S1 or $850 is the starting price for complete swords. That sounds fine but from the pictures, their S1 and Musashi tsukas look similar but the S1 is much more expensive for a complete sword. The Sword Experience that does sword events and mainly sells bokkens sells a complete Highalnder Duncan complete T-10 sword for $1000. It says both artists worked for Point Gallery and TSP. Their tsuka is a resculpted version that is also available on a bokken for $200. Its does not look as detailed as the PG tsuba so how was you experience and what did your order.I heard about that, that's unfortunate, but not when I dealt with him in 2020, these were the best prop buying experiences I ever had.
