T-800 Endoskeleton Arm Build

Hi All,

A while back I stumbled upon the thread where Conqueror_Worm uploaded detailed blueprints of the T-800 arm, based on the static model. https://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=140617&highlight=T-800+Arm+blueprints

The thread was filled with suggestions on how to animate the arm and that inspired me to get to work on my current project - an animatronic T-800 arm. I document my builds on YouTube and have so far uploaded two videos on my progress.

Part 1 is an introduction to the project:

Part 2 is a detailed look at how I modified the plans and created an animated finger prototype.

Upcoming videos will delve into the actual machining of the various parts. When I run into problems (as I know I will) I'll be sure to post them here. I'm a novice at building movie props and can use all the help I can get.

I'll be back,,,

Ken

Yes, CNC mill and lathe. Even with CNC, some of these parts are ridiculously hard to make as you'll see in the next videos.

Yes, I imagine so - they look very fiddly. Looking forward to more updates.

Now that the finger prototype is complete I've begun machining the tiny parts that make up the hand. If you're curious how I do that, take a look!
