Your Most Expensive Movie-Related Purchase?

What's your most expensive movie-related purchase? I say "movie-related" because this can range from autographs, any replicas, screen-used/production/original props, figures, sculptures, "toys", etc.

Mine would have to be a production-made Book of Secrets from National Treasure 2. Had to pay $5k for it. :facepalm But I still love it, and don't necessarily regret it... yet. ;)

What about you guys?

Toss up between my Coyle Blade Runner and Rylo working Sandman flame gun. At the time, each was around $900.

Nice! I love that Blade Runner gun you have there. :)

Thanks! Actually, now that I think of it I did purchase a complete set of carded Kenner STAR WARS 12-Back 3 3/4" figures years ago for around $2000 which included a vinyl caped Jawa and what I later discovered to be a double telescoping Ben Kenobi, one of only 3 ever discovered on card. Sold the whole lot in 2006 for $13,000, took my family to New Zealand. :)

HOLY MOLY!!! THAT'S INCREDIBLE!!!
The only time anything I ever bought was worth a lot afterwards is when I bought a LP Vinyl of an Inception soundtrack on Amazon for $15, thinking that it was a CD. Once I received it, thought it took too much effort to return it, so I kept it in my drawer untouched. A few years later, was about to sell it thinking that it's a piece of junk only to discover that it's worth $450 because there was only 1000 of them made. Obviously, my story isn't as impressive as yours though. ;)

I've "invested" thousands on say a single costume (such as my Admiral Kirk WOK uniform), however this wasn't an "all at once" type purchase.

My biggest prop purchase was the Master Replicas Motion Tracker. I bought it directly from MR back in 2003 the day it became available. So that was $400 I believe. Tack on $50 for shipping, so now $450. AND when it arrived I received a lovely COD invoice for FedEx shpping for another $30.

BUT- the initial $450 was US dollars and the Canadian dollar was certainly not as on par with the US dollar as it has been in the past few years. So with the exchange rate that $450 worked out to be about $600! :(

Anything else I've bought (phasers, lightsabers etc) were in the $300 range.

$1800 for an Albion Armoury Lindsay Discerner sword - the blade that John Boorman undoubtedly referenced as the model for Excalibur.

Yup, MR has the actor sign a specific number of plaques. The COA looks like this (just copied an example from Photobucket. Didn't want to dig mine out :p)

That's so awesome that Master Replicas offer signature editions! I only knew of the non-limited ones. I couldn't really tell from your previous picture, but whose two autographs do you have? And $600 seems to be a really good price! I'm seeing some Luke Skywalker ones on eBay for $1000, :lol.

currently it has to be either my TM Vader ESB, or my Han DL-44 Hero with electronics.... or my MKVI Luke RTOJ FX saber...

soon to be trumped by another Vader lid, or my live fire Han DL-44

The dual signature Darth Vader is signed by James Earl Jones and Dave Prowse. I edited the picture so you could see a close up of the plaques together. My lightsaber is #114 of 1000
