Your Indiana Jones Displays - Lets see 'em

So, new house, decided to set up a corner of the living room with a few props and a costume display. Would love some inspiration from those of you who've already done this!
I'm just starting to build up my collection, So far I've purchased a staff of Ra headpiece, made a Staff of Ra stand, and made a grail. I'm using a corner near our bookshelves as my Indiana Jones display area. I plan to add a Sankara stone, once I've made one. I'm also making a little pedestal for the grail so it's up a bit higher.

Finally have a display that I am happy to start showing off, though there is still a looooooong way to go! I hope to fill all 3 shelves of the cabinet one day as well as have a desk as full of treasures as Indy's Marshall College desk :D

genZOD is your grail lit from the inside somehow, or is that just ambient lighting reflecting back? Also, love the goat skull build! We were building ours around the same time and yours is sensational! Looks just like the burning skull that Toht grabbed the headpiece off of.

Thanks! The gold on my grail is mostly 24K leaf, so it pretty much always looks like it's glowing. That said, it does light up:

Where are we finding the death mask please
I was lucky enough to snag mine from the Junkyard about a month or two ago. It was from an old run by IndianaAndrews. I searched for a while but couldn't find anybody (that wasn't a recaster) actively making a good quality one :(

I finally took a photo of my Henry Jones Senior sidecar chase Hunter Case Jean Pierre watch.

It was at WonderCon on Saturday, sheltering from the rain. (Happily my costume includes an umbrella.)

I suppose my watch isn't a "prop" per se but the thing I use when in character to tell time.

Definitely a prop. And a tough one to find. Almost as tough as the non-hunter version. Nice

Whoa, whoa, whoa… are you saying I can use Sankara Stones to power my Mad Dog Hoverboard????

Sounds right to me. The diamonds light up when they get near other diamonds. Clearly, they're giving off ENERGY when this happens. Put diamonds in your hoverboard, and a stone on your hoverboard and harness the energy produced to power your board. Science !

I like the black idol eyes, just like the stunt model whereas the doll eyes versions never look quite right compared to the movie footage for some reason no matter how much care is taken (lighting differences? Slight eye shape differences? I duuno, but they never look right to me).

I agree 100%. There’s something (a lifelessness?) about the replicas of the pedestal idol that never rings right to me compared to the screenshots of the prop. I’ve always thought the Belloq also had the black dots btw

I thought that was the stunt model he was holding up? The one in the cave was animatronic originally. I don't know if they used a static shot of it or the hero idol.

Personally I think the idol should be all metal with indented pupils in the eyes. People get hung up with this prop because of the different versions used in the movie and a fan-obsession to have whatever looks more like "the prop" as opposed to what the object is supposed to be like in the story, which is what's actually important (at least to me it is). Problem though is that there are a bunch of different versions of this particular prop and that always throws conversations about it into chaos.

The only reason there is a version with glass eyes is because of a deleted beat where the idol was meant to look haunted and follow Indy with its gaze. Remnants of this still exist in the movie but it's nothing but an abandoned idea that they didn't follow through or it'd be much more obvious and the idol design more consistent throughout the scenes. Belloq's idol, whether it actually had concave pupils at any point or painted on ones, it does have pupils, which is what matters. The painted dots however are just a cheap way to trick the camera and not what the idol would've actually looked like in the fictional world it inhabits. Bottom line, if the glass eyes are an abandoned idea and the painted ones are quick workaround, neither of them is really the right look for the object. Most likely, it was always meant to be a solid gold piece with carved in pupils, but instead, everyone always goes for behind-the-scenes concept approximations, which makes finding story-style idols much more difficult.
