Your Indiana Jones Displays - Lets see 'em

I finally found a way to mount my full size Staff of Ra (MK Solid Bronze Headpiece used) in the theater room without it falling over:

A grettings... ;)
I have one too also from eBay only a few weeks ago but the watch is in fact another case of who cares when it was made because this is the movies just like Indy 's British gas mask bag was made for WW2 in 1945 Rene's style of watch was made around 1955, but I don't care and and I'm sure No one else does as they look great in film and are a cheap and easy to get hold of,my watch was only £7.49 Inc p&p as it does not work and I need to get a chain for it but once I've got one I'm sure it will look good on display, I think I will watch the bar scene and have a look to see what time Rene's says and just set mine to that time as it's a none working one

[/ CITAR]

There are people who care about the year and others who don't, but the important thing is to have a pocket watch that is identical ...

Regarding the chain, I bought it in this store:

I paid $29 for a working one and another $23 for the correct chain (seems more than a few have the wrong one based on Sarednab's gallery page that shows a clip instead of a circular center t-bar that you can plainly see in a freeze frame). Compared to some pricey Indy items (accurate headpieces for example), it's a relative bargain and it's possibly functional as well (real pocket watch). The Marion IMCO lighter is another one. I've purchased three now (one early '40s one with some time aged character and bits of chipped nickel on the finish and minor corrosion on an inside strut with the original TM Reg Austria cap, a "Patent Austria" cap one in excellent condition probably made in more recent decades) and another early TM Reg cap one from the late '30-40s in excellent condition as it was rarely used. I paid $20 shipped for the latter one and $15 each shipped for the other two. That's not much more than a new Chinese made one or knockoff. So many were made they aren't rare for a vintage one. Ronson lighters are often the same way for many models. I got a From Russia With Love style Ronson Whirlwind in very good condition for like $7 plus shipping.

Now the Touch Tip I just bought cost me $190, but it's a one of a kind WWII gifted model made in the 1930s and gifted to a guy for his wedding with engraved signatures from big whigs at the British Power company, a couple whom went on to British parliament after the war. The engraved wedding date is in 1941, I think shortly before Pearl Harbor. Octets were used in Bogart movies (One was used in Ms. Wonderly's apartment as part of a tray and cigarette box set and another stand alone in the movie Conflict with Sydney Greenstreet and Bogart) and this one is also a bit of a WWII British artifact.... I think I got a bargain, especially since it looks like almost mint condition (probably rarely used).

Besides, the idea of a British purchased WWII lighter with historical signatures in the hands of an American (me) amuses me for some reason. I'm a big fan of British culture, though. If it weren't for an ear infection/vertigo, I'd be visiting again later this month. I'm going to aim for next spring instead (I want to rent a car and tour the British countryside for a couple of weeks plus a week in London to do the things I didn't have time for the last time I was there).

I was hoping to find a vase in the Temple of Doom that looked something like this decorated solid brass one I bought from India to hold the Staff of Ra for display (fits pretty good with only some minor inserts (using a toilet tube at the moment, but will find something better later probably), but no such luck. It's such a cool looking vase, though, almost like a genie bottle with a tall neck. I'd love to use a recreated map room floor bit, but there's no room there.

Thanks for that

Another IMCO Super 6700 arrived (Marion's lighter from the Ravenwood Bar in Raiders), this one a 1930s/40s early version (original "TM REG AUSTRIA" end cap) from Morocco of all places. I thought it was a bit corroded, but it turns out it just had some stains/tobacco/something on it. It cleaned up very well and is sparking nicely with a new flint and the wick adjusted and trimmed. The sad thing is I have yet another one on the way (hedging my bets against the corrosion on this one as that one came up later and looked cleaner).

Added Indy's Smith & Wesson M1917 gun to bookshelf display.

Added "Belle of Lincoln" whiskey bottle replica with matching Duralex "Universel" glass from the Marhala bar scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Added Libbey Gibraltar 12oz Stackable Tumbler glass (Belloq/Marion glasses used in the tent scene where she tries to drink Belloq under the table).

Low Overview Shelf:

I'm still waiting on the matching bottle/label replica from the tent scene (coming from Italy), which will go by the matching glass and Belloq's pocket watch eventually. The Portuguese Reis 4000 replica coins and coin pouch are also on the way for the bookshelf display.

Looking good! Which replica M1917 did you go with?

It was by artsee1com on Etsy. The paint job really looks like metal. I looked at a real one, but $700+ for a shelf prop seemed a bit much. I'd rather keep a real one in my bedroom where I can get to it quickly if necessary.

I made my own color fill for the Belle of Lincoln bottle (and will replace the others after they've been drunk as well). I think it was one part white vinegar (to discourage bacteria/fungal growth) to ten parts distilled water. Three drops red, about 12-15 yellow and one green food coloring looked "Carmel" to me like the movie (lighter than regular Jack).

Added Indy Magnoli Coin Pouch with 18 Portuguese Gold REIS 400 coins (Temple of Doom where Lao Che tried to buy the Nurachi Urn with instead of the diamond) added to my Indy bookshelf display (The camera flash did an odd thing off the diamond in this photo):

I'm not sure what else I could add to the bookshelf display now except perhaps a grail diary and/or a mini crystal skull (full size wouldn't fit)

I've rearranged the Poster display to fit with the Maltese Falcon better (there's a liquor bottle in that movie that looks similar to the Belle of Lincoln seen from behind so it can "share" the space better with both displays better than the Jack Daniels bottle). I moved the Johnny Walker bottle to the corner (looked better to me). I'm still waiting on the Belloq "Eau da Vie" bottle to put with the "tent" glass.

Just a small correction: the coins are 400 not 4000 - cruzado novo (new crusader) / 400 Reis ;)
Curiosity: the original 1798 Portuguese D Maria I coin, was actualy silver...

My 'Eau Da Vie' Family Label bottle (a type of fig brandy) has arrived. I've set up Indy stuff (bottles, glasses, medallions) on the left and Belloq stuff on the right (one-sided medallion, pocket watch and glass/bottle) with the Ark in the middle both had access to (scale version that it is). I think I'm out of room on that shelf now. :)

Another addition to my Indy collection this is a replica I've just finished making it's a German Officers hat as worn by Colonel Vogel in The Last Crusade,it started out as a grey chauffeurs type one which I found at a car boot sale for £3.00 then sprayed it black reshaped the sides and glued them in place added string for the top piping modified a curtain tie back for the band and sprayed it silver, finally purchased the replica badges from eBay for £9.75. However this was not my original plans when I purchased the hat it was going to be a replica of the Zeppelin Stewards hat that Indy wears in the classic no ticket scene, but the hat just did not look right painted white but that's how making replica props goes sometimes.
