You’re a Daisy If You Do - Doc Holliday Budget Build

Since 2008, what started as a few firefighters having a mustache growing contest/charity event, has grown to us raising over 100k for children’s burn camps. The Mustache Bash has a theme every year and costumes are highly encouraged. This year is a western theme!

I decided my costume would be Val Kilmer’s Doc Holliday. My budget is under $100 so I’ll sacrifice accuracy but enough for people know who I am portraying.

The hat is from Amazon and is decent quality for $25. It was the widest brim I could find without looking like The Undertaker.

This coat was $25 as well and I’ll be doing some modding to it to make it slightly more accurate.

More to come!

I couldn't find a Colt Lightning model so 3D print it is. I have a whole version and one with separated grips. I have not printed this yet so feel free to tweak it. Enjoy!

Did you ever print this? I downloaded it and I've asked people on Etsy about printing it but they're all saying there are problems with the model and it'll require fixing in order to be printable.

Printed ones look bad...spend a Buck and a half on the Kolser , not exact copy but good and all metal ! Best copy is this one on mg props uk

Prints can look pretty good if you finish them well, resin prints especially. I'm hoping to take this to conventions too and they're usually a lot stricter about prop guns made of metal even if they're non-firing. Plus I just prefer assembling and painting my own props rather than buying them premade whenever it's a viable option.

Good call...the MG props one is ABS plastic with metal strap/guard !

That sounded promising until I looked up the price . I'll keep trying to get a printed version, but I suppose if all else fails the Kolser would be good for photos/display even if I can't take it to cons.

here's a real oddball gun...also check out my pal Joey on youtube
