Guess I am a bit with Zombie Killer, franz bolo, and funky jedi on this one... and just feeling like 1) this was a setup and 2) this is being made into a WAY larger issue than it is, due to the PC police. Does MG have issues? Surely. Are some of his statements deplorable? Yes. Is this worth all the hoopla and all the hypocritical righteous indignation from the masses? Not even close.

I feel bad for the guy. Clearly he has many issues going on including anger management skills, worse if he truly believes what he has said in anger.
The tongue is incredibly hard to tame. All kinds of wild animals have been tamed but the tongue is the most difficult and problems causing organ in the human body so to speak.
I hope Mel seeks out and gets some professional help.

I have hung out with Danny several times and while I don't agree with a lot of his opinions, I respect him anyway.
He has a huge heart and is a very kind Man.

He never seemed interested in doing the only thing I cared about him ever doing again and that is Fury Road. So if he is done with Max I have no use for this guy one way or the other.
Hopefully they recast Max and get on with it. Quit waiting for this guy, people will be less inclined to want to put money in his pocket anymore anyways.

Mel isn't the only guy on the planet who doesn't want his wife/girlfriend dressing provocatively and is vocal about it. I don't agree with the "N" word, but having grown up in Hawaii being called a "****in Haole" (Hawaiians equivalent to the N word) by even some close friends I don't get bent out of shape about it probably like I should.

She may have set him up, whatever. He's not a child, he left his wife for her, and he should have known better (IMO a gold digger) Why jump from the frying pan into the fire?

I know the deal, as many of us surely do with using language that polite and protected society can find upsetting, and not understanding what the context can mean.
It's not so much the non PC language as it is the verbal abuse of a woman that is the driving factor here I think.

Why are you guys judging this man based on the MEDIA? Have none of you have ever said anything in extreme anger that you normally wouldn't do or didn't give thought to before you said it? Have you ever said something you thought was private and didn't know others would hear? I doubt anyone here lives with or is in close contact with this man on a daily basis. The Media thrives on this kind of thing and alot of you feed into it. Maybe the man has anger issues or maybe he genuinely has ALOT to be angry about. I don't know anything about Mel Gibson personally and I certainly don't listen to the lowlife media since they mostly feed on people's misery. All I can judge personally about Mel Gibson is in my opinion I think hes a fine Director and Actor. Some will agree and some won't. Frankly I don't feel his personal life is anyone's business or how would any of you like being chased by idiots with cameras and microphones everywhere you go?

For him to be pushed like that, someone has to have their finger on the button!! This seems very set up on her part and she probably knows which button to push.
Both are in a custody battle which is never pretty. As for his alleged abuse, we'll eventually see if it is true or not.
Innocent until proven guilty.

I'm not a therapist, but having been deeply involved in the church when that film came out, the cynical side of me thought that subconsciously, some people were really grooving on the violence, especially those who have been sheltered from "the world."
Again, my initial comment was a response to someone saying they couldn't believe the maker of The Passion would be so abusive, and I'm simply saying I don't think the film has that much in the way of spiritual merit. This isn't an anti-Christian observation. I just don't see making that film as a huge sign that the guy is pious. It's very manipulative.

Well I can tell you one odd thing, since I saw this first hand:
Hannah was good friends with my girlfriend (they were in the same ballet company in Malibu). Hannah was a pretty thin but muscular girl. One night we were at Coffee Bean talking and Hannah told us that her dad had her on an "apple only" diet to loose weight. She said that she could only eat apples for a week.
Let alone the first time I met Mel was at the dance studio. I was there to pick up my GF and Mel was sitting in his car (SUV) waiting for Hannah. She (Hannah) was only 15 and couldn't drive yet. The guy was dressed in a blue bath robe with the hood pullled over his eyes and mumbling to himself about something. Hannah introduced us and he didn't even look up, he just mumbled "hi" or something. Later Hanna apologized for him "acting strange" and said that he had been trying to quit smoking that week.
My good friend who was the choreographer for the ballet company, use to house sit for the Gibsons. She would stay at their Malibu Colony house while they were all out of town. She PERSONALLY saw Mel cheating on Robin once. She never signed a confidentiality agreement but she was not the type of person to talk.

If Hannah was 15, how much older were you and your girlfriend?
His behavior doesn't qualify him as being nuts. He's a Hollywood star, some of them are eccentric. With paparazzi and fans, it's understandable. If I left the house in my blue robe, I probably wasn't prepared to meet anyone in the first place. Proabably covering up his bad hair and singing to the radio! :lol
