Yellow Lightsaber

I tried looking at ultrasabers, and the only thing yellow was a bad orange.

I'm working on turning this Padawan Rapunzel by pushfighter on deviantART into a cosplay. I know how I'm going to make the long hair whip attach to the saber, it's just getting the right color is tricky.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to get a yellow saber? Or how to make a yellow saber? I'm fairly novice in construction of props but I have someone who might be able to translate any directions so we can build it together.
 
Yellow is usually done using either a white LED with a yellow filter on it or with a multi die LED (like RGBW, RGBA RGGB, etc.), usually connected to a sound board that supports color changing via a "daughter" board. In other words, it's not usually something you can just find premade, ready to buy.

To get a saber with a yellow blade, you can either learn to build/modify custom sabers yourself or commission a saber smith to make you a saber with a yellow blade (or modify an existing saber to have a yellow blade). Info on making sabers yourself can be found at "The Custom Saber Shop", "imperial Royal Arms" and "FX-Sabers" forums. The latter two are also good for finding saber smiths.
 
I too want a yellow saber. At ultra sabers they have a color called Sun rider's destiny but no image. Does anyone know what color it is similar to?
 
Actually they have the all the colors that they offer, right there on the main home page. Sunrider's Destiny is cyan. Ultra Sabers does not appear to offer a yellow bladed saber.

Just an FYI, amber is easy to come by as LED manufacturers make amber LEDs. I know it's not yellow but it's close.
 
Hello. I have ordered from Ultra sabers and they do in fact have a yellow saber color. It is a formum exclusive or hidden color. Here is what you have to do. Go to their website and then forums. Register for a forum membership. Its free of charge. Once you done that you can go to their main page of sabers with sound to purchase. Pick the saber you want and build it out with all your options. Select any blade color, I would recommend silver. Once you have added it to your card ad a $5 requisition charge and you can search their site for that and once in your cart under comments you tell them you want a yellow LED for your saber. They have a few hidden colors that they let you do that with. They have a yellow, a dark amethyst (which is a darker purple than the normal shade), a different orange, and then banes heart (which is a pink color. The banes heart is simply gorgeous. Hope that helps. You can also search their forums for colors and it will give you the same directions I did.
 
I got a pretty decent yellow using an Amber Luxeon Rebel LED.
In person I would say that it appears slightly more orange, but in photos and video it appears quite yellow.

Thank you so much for the replies! I've emailed UltraSabers to see if I can simple message back and forth on getting the right saber. I did join their forums and I was really excited to found a yellow saber for my budget. I'm currently waiting for them to message me back so I am 100% sure that I'll get a yellow saber from them.
