Y-Wing Pilot Helmet- O2 Arena Star Wars Musical Experience

Those are awesome photos! Thanks for sharing! Never ever seen good pics of this helmet before. Interesting that it also has the Radio Free Bolinas decal on the chin that the Grey Leader helmet has. (y)thumbsup

Let the hunt for the proper Yamaha helmet commence! :lol
Awesome photos of a really obscure SW piece. I was bummed that the greeblies have disappeared over the years, until I saw what was underneath the ear cap. I'm so used to the helmets being nothing but vac formed shells, that seeing an actual helmet being used was a bit of a shock.
Now all we need is for Lucas to tour the A-Wing helmet and we'll have them all documented.

The Yamaha piece looks to be the side cover of an engine of a bike. Thank you for the pics bud. :thumbsup

I saw these a few days ago. Great photos but for some reason the guy almost totally ignored that Black Imperial Guard :cry:cry:cry

Cheers

Thanks all ! I had build a fiberglass y-wing Helmet last year but with this great pictures I rework them and plan to vacfoam it.

I someone know or has what piece is the yamaha one, we could take an idea of the size of it :)

Great pictures! I wish I had these a year ago, when I was resculpting a RA kit. These pictures really show how inaccurate that kit is.

Finally, we can see with clarity that there is a triangle bottom edge under each ear that continue in the shape of the recess along the back edge. And we can see that the long flat buttons really are sitting in recesses.
I had not seen before that there is a slight groove under the back ridge.

I still find it difficult to see the shape of the long black buttons. Do the sides taper towards the top, or is it just the thickness towards the top that tapers?
Are the L-brackets on the visor's sides mounted to the inside of the visor?
I wonder if the "mount" for the microphone boom is made from circuit boards.

I think that other Y-wing helmets can have a different left ear greeblie.
Too bad that the greeblie from the left chin recess is missing. :(

Surely the Yamaha engine casing is from the 1/6 XS1100? It was used during the ROTJ build era on the ATST among others? Im just not 100% on size, but that is the casing pattern your after guys!

Ralphee,

Another picture from inside the helmet said "Grey Rebel Pilot Helmet # 21"
How many was made ? "21" or maybe more?
