Re: XRobots Iron Man Mk6 UPDATED: Exoskeleton strapping system started

Small update on my strapping system, just the arm pieces. The next stage is to work on the magnetic latching system and start fitting the upper body parts, then work my way down to the pelvis and legs, so I can get the spacing correct, More at: XRobots.co.uk -Exoskeleton strapping system

hey james i am currently searching for a good way to coat foam and your method is nice but pretty expensive ! :/ do you know what would be the result with fiberglass ?

Re: XRobots Iron Man Mk6 UPDATED: Exoskeleton strapping system started

Wow. I have no words. This is just incredible!

Re: XRobots Iron Man Mk6 UPDATED: Exoskeleton strapping system started

Brilliant work. Never tried molding and casting, but you sir, have me wanting to give it a shot! Amazing how convenient it can make part fabrication and replication.

Re: XRobots Iron Man Mk6 UPDATED: Exoskeleton strapping system & partial suit up

HOLY BANANAS!!!! I don't even know where to begin, this is pure genius! The exoskeleton + magnetic setup = WIN!

You have taken harnessing to a whole new level! Great work

Looks very accurate, hard to believe its foam!

Re: XRobots Iron Man Mk6 UPDATED: Exoskeleton strapping system - thoughts on legs

You wouldn't be selling this by any chance would you. I'm kinda pressed for time and am looking for an elegant connecting system for my fiberglass resin build which is still in progress. I often thought about something that would snap together, but had trouble figuring out how to take it off (Much like Tony Stark in the first movie :lol

This system is awesome. Look forward to seeing the finished result!

Interesting thoughts seems to be working out superb so far.
Love your videos keep them coming.

Nothing for sale I'm afraid, I've been doing this project for almost two years, so I'd like to get it finished before anything...

I understand that. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask, right? I enjoy your tutorials and will do my homework.

Keep up the good work!

Very sophisticated

There's not enough love for xrobot's iron man thread. This stuff is ridiculously awesome.

Here's the latest on this, I've built the boot and partial shin exoskeleton to mould the rigid pieces on. This includes a hinge at the ball of the foot and two floating hinges on each ankle to allow natural walking: Iron Man Armour Exoskeleton Strapping System Part 5 Boot and Shins

Agreed. I'll be really impressed when he actually perfects repulsor technology tho... :p
