He wasn't in the third, and I honestly can't remember if he interacted with her in the second. No Oedipus overtones in any event.

Magneto is their "main" got-to-bad-guy. Fans love him (me being one) and he's easy enough to understand (He's a big magnet). I'm a long time X-Fan and just wish they could try and use the real team instead of the hodge-podge we're getting. It's great as a fan to have an X-Men movie being made, but I want to see the true First Class, not the ones they toss in here.

Nightcrawler says "they zay u can take anyvons form, even zer voice?" then Mystique says "even zer voice" using Nightcrawlers voice. Then she says that they shouldnt have to hide from the rest of the world after he asks how come she doesnt blend in with everyone else. Then on the commentary someone says "look at their similarities, they're related somehow"

In the comics she's his mom and I'm pretty sure she was Rogue's real mom too. They get points for having the original SR 71 style Blackbird they used in the 80s on the poster.

As other's have said, I wish they'd have used the real first class, but I guess they thought it'd be confusing to some to have a new Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, and Archangel/Angel. Which is odd, since they recast Beast. 
Either way, the trailer looks cool and Brett Ratner isn't directing it, so I'll be buying a ticket to see it.

They recasted Beast due to the X-3 timeline. Beast mentioned his 'old uniform' was a little tighter. Meaning he'd been in the X-Men line up prior to X-1.

That would make sense, but then they'd have to pay the comic artist instead of a cheaper graphic artist who can just photoshop photos. :thumbsdown
Comic artists don't get paid squat compared to big time design guys.
These kinds of posters are mainly caused by studio boardrooms. Design by commitee.

Ahh, I see. then I guess I don't see why they wouldn't commission someone. Maybe because the execs lose their "artistic" vision by giving it to a real artist?
