Just finished my servicable helmet for Magneto and thought I'd go ahead and bang out the rest of the costume for the end of X-Men First Class. I figure this would be good for one day of Comic Con.

The cape is purple-lined with probably satin. Hoodless cloak, almost a ladies style. The jacket has piping across the chest, cuffs on the sleeves and the oversized pockets.
I found this McCall's pattern (the gray coat on the right) which might be a good starting point. The extras will have to be added and the buttons will need to be removed for a zipper or some other type of hidden attachment but for the general, squared and long form, it's the best I have found.

Pants, boots and gloves are pretty easy.
I'd also walk around floating a metal ball. This is based on a card trick I know. It's a neat effect and I think it would be cool seeing Magneto doing it.
Has anyone gotten anywhere with this suit that has advice?
Mark
