Thanks! It took some doing (and doing, again) to get there but I'm well pleased with how the helmet ultimately came out. Almost 2 years on from when I originally started the thread and I'm still patting myself on the back.
Was fairly dubious when I got the request to put the OG colors on the DoFP helmet but it really worked out in the end.
I know this seems like stroking my own ego, constantly resurrecting this old thread, but I recently came across a photo of one of my early buckets from one of the first people to buy it from me and it really lit a fire under me. They had repainted my helmet in... a way I don't approve of, let's just say politely. The colors were far from, not just the film, but my paint scheme and it muddied up all the detail I sculpted into it. I'm not upset as I am disappointed to see something I'm really proud of in such a state. So, I vowed that from now on that I'd try to prevent that happening again to further buckets I let go of and paint the helmets as close as I can to the prop, and as seen on film, but in a way that didn't drown out my detailing.
This was the latest one I sent out today and I'm extremely pleased with the outcome. This set is what it looks like indoors:
