X-Files Dreamland prop

Just happened to catch Dreamland I and II this afternoon, one of my favorites. Has anyone ever put together one of the penny dime replicas? Seems easy... Although to make it sturdy it seems silver solder would be the answer but I guess simple superglue would be almost as effective.

Also, has anyone ever made up Fletcher's ID?

Defacing currencly is a federal crime ;)

With that said, this is pretty easy to do, and you will not need solder or glue. You just need to cut a slot halfway down the center of each coin. If you cut the slots just right you'll have to tap them together all the way with a tack hammer, which in the end makes for a pretty solid bond.

As for the ID, I think I may have one put away somewhere, but it will take some major digging to find.

Actually it's not... Defacing currency with the intent to alter the bill or coin to gain a benefit through deceit is illegal.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned that it would be simple... Would love to see your ID, so get digging. ;)

I purchased it with some other X-files ID's and small props a few years ago. I probably cannot get to it until after the holiday, but I will upload a pic when I can.

From the Squished Penny Museum:

<blockquote>"United States law Section 331, Title 18 prohibits altering coins or other forms of money for fraudulent uses. On the other hand, it does permit the altering of coins, such as pennies, without such intentions."

I've seen 2 quarters merged together like this for sale at magic shops. never a dime/penny though.

I managed to get a friend to take the pic for me and zap it to me via e-mail so I could upload it. This is the ID I got a while back with some other X-files stuff.

Looking at the screen caps, it looks like only the penny has the hole. Slotting both would be easier though.:)
